Based in Greensboro, NC, “Break the Chain Kennel Kru” was launched in January 2016 after completing our first 2 kennel builds. We are a small group of volunteers dedicated to making a difference in the lives of chained dogs. Since we all work full-time, we do our outreach on the weekends. We were recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization on June 6, 2016 (with an effective date of March 31, 2016).
We are committed to offering no-cost, chain link kennels (with tarps) to under-served parts of our community, for the purpose of freeing High Point and Greensboro area dogs from permanent tethering. These will be families who are not eligible for a fence. This will also help residents comply with Guilford County's anti-tethering law.
